Meet Heather & Kristi. A fun loving pair of sisters, born and raised in Houston. While their lives have taken different paths (one, a teacher Hallettsville and the other a physical therapist in Houston), these two share a special (mostly goofy) bond.

Shortly after relocating to Houston, I met Heather through a mutual friend. Since then, we’ve become good friends, attending renaissance fairs, ski trips and playing on our local co-ed softball team together. So when she came to me looking for new pictures to give their parents for mother’s/father’s day, we made it happen. We spent an over-cast Saturday afternoon in a rural town just outside the Houston city limits. The girls spent the morning scouting for a good “country” location, and absolutely nailed it!

Check out a few of their shots below, and thanks for reading!

Meet Justin & Leslie, an awesome couple hailing from League City, TX. I met Justin last year through a mutual friend, and put together an awesome photo-shoot with him and his fellow band members on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival. I had a great time, and knew it wouldn’t be the last time I’d get to hang with Justin.

After popping the question during the Christmas holidays, Justin got in touch to schedule an engagement shoot. We spent a cloudy Sunday afternoon shooting in the League City library, a local park, and the Kemah Boardwalk. I had wanted to visit Kemah since I moved to Houston, so the opportunity to shoot among the thousands of people and carnival lights was exciting! Justin & Leslie were a true pleasure to work with, and the chemistry they share was obvious – I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to spend the day with. All the best to you guys!

Jeff & Jessica met on an Austin Texas night back in 2009. While salsa dancing with a group of mutual friends, Jessica invited Jeff onto the floor to teach him a thing or two and break the ice (seriously, this girl can dance). Her salsa abilities had him hooked, and after that night it was a done deal. I have the pleasure of working with Jeff at Hewlett-Packard here in Houston and after meeting Jessica on a snowboarding trip to Colorado earlier this year, I knew they had something special. I’m so thankful I got to be there to experience their big day both as friend and photographer. All the best guys!

Meet Ariel. She’s a soon-to-be summer graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. I had the opportunity to meet her family when I shot some prom pictures for her younger sister back in May, and had such a blast. When they got in touch with me to shoot her Aggie ring pictures before she graduates, I was more than happy to accept.

For those unfamiliar with Texas A&M University, they’re a school chock-full of many traditions. It all became apparent to me after I attended my first Texas A&M football game in the fall of 2009. All of the crazy chants, “Whoops!” and hand gestures were more than enough to confuse an outsider like myself. One thing quickly became apparent, these students had some serious pride. The Aggie Ring lies at the core of their school spirit and tradition (some really neat history behind it).

After Ariel graduates in August with her Business Management degree, she’s headed to Orlando for a summer internship at Disneyworld. Let’s be honest, if she worked hard enough to graduate an entire year early, she’s got a bright future ahead! So good luck Ariel and send us a Disney postcard. All the best from SSP!

Ariel’s sister was on hand to provide support (hair support – it got windy). Sisterly love; this is it folks.

I met TJ when I uprooted my life in the Northeast and decided to try my luck living and working in Houston, TX. When I met TJ upon arriving in Houston, I immediately knew there was something special about him. His desire and willingness to sacrifice time & talent to help others, was something that I envied – the definition of a humble servant. We became really good friends and have experienced quite a few adventures together over these last two years. I quickly learned that TJ loved a few things in particular: being cajun, eating crawfish, sports, Raising Caine’s chicken strips and absolutely decimating people in disc golf. In particular, he had always expressed a strong desire be a husband and a raise a family, but was content with serving in our church community until the right lady came into his life.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2010 when a married friend of TJ’s offered up two extra tickets to a Houston Astros game. His friend promised him the tickets only if he could bring a date with him, as this was a double date only. That night, TJ got up the nerve and asked Lanie if she would go to the game with him. She agreed, and the rest is history!

I have the pleasure of calling them both my friends and I’m excited to see their marraige, and our friendship grow. Congrats guys!

TJ’s reaction as Lanie walked down the aisle.
